EastEnders cast fear Danny Dyer will quit the soap after bosses force the party animal actor to take extended break to sort his life out

THE EastEnders cast fear Danny Dyer will quit the soap this year after show bosses’ decision to force him to take an extended break to sort his life out.
The Sun revealed yesterday how the party animal actor — the Queen Vic’s landlord Mick Carter — has stopped filming for a number of weeks after an ultimatum from the show.
Now cast and crew say they are worried that Danny is on the verge of leaving permanently.
BBC chiefs want to find a way to make him stay — but are believed to be already thinking about possible ways to write his character out for a longer period if necessary.
Danny, 39, who is paid £400,000 a year, is contracted to stay with the soap until November.
Our Enders source said: “Danny has been the main conversation on set all week.
“No one knows exactly what is going on but it’s highly unusual for a core cast member to leave for weeks on end with no notice whatsoever.
“Many of the cast think he simply won’t come back at all, but the bosses are insisting he will be on set again within weeks.
“But even then they are looking at possible ways for him to be written out because there’s no guarantee he’ll stay.”
Danny’s departure has left fans spitting with fury, with viewers taking to social media in droves to say they will not watch the show unless he returns.

The BBC initially refused to comment to The Sun but yesterday confirmed our exclusive by admitting: “Danny is on a short break from EastEnders.”
Beeb chiefs also claimed Danny was not partying hard at the National Television Awards, despite him appearing visibly drunk.
Danny’s departure is a major concern for producers as his character is central to many key storylines.

SOUL OF THE SQUARE

IF hapless EastEnders bosses lose Danny Dyer they might as well close the Queen Vic for good.
Finally, they have found an actor to fill the void left by the show’s biggest superstar, Babs Windsor.
In less than four years he has become the heart and soul of Albert Square – and viewers overwhelmingly adore him.
But it didn’t take a rocket scientist to work out the chain- smoking, hard-boozing love rat, who once boasted he would always take drugs, was going to cause some serious trouble along the way.
If they didn’t want to deal with that trouble then why on earth did they hire him?
Danny’s been the best thing to happen to the struggling soap in years.
It’s losing the ratings and creative battle to Corrie and Emmerdale.
They should butt out of his private life and let him come back as soon as possible.
