THE ONLY Way is Essex's James 'Arg' Argent has never been the luckiest man on the planet when it comes to affairs of the heart - but now his luck might be changing after winning a date with a Take Me Out babe.
The 29-year-old reality star appeared on Paddy McGuinness's dating show on Sunday night - and won himself a date with a bubbly red head called Shawni.
It came shortly after it was revealed that his sister Natasha was also on the show - and she was so shocked at his appearance she screamed before slamming down the button to turn her light off.
Shawni was won over by Arg after he performed Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra (flying through the air as Paddy played cello) - and caught his attention by giving him pick-up lines inspired by the crooner.
When he finally picked her, he was heard telling her backstage: "It couldn't be anyone else."
The pair were then whisked off to the Isle of Fernandos - but unfortunately that's where the romance soon fizzled out.
Speaking to the cameras, Shawni said that Arg was her "celebrity crush" before she declared: "It's like every girls dream!"
Heading out to a water park, Shawni blushed when the Towie star wolf-whistled when she revealed her curves in a white bikini.
However, he was left unimpressed when her hair dye started running in the water, down her swimsuit and into the dinghy.
Afterwards, dinner didn't prove much better - with the bubbly hopeful
At the end of the date, Shawni seemed smitten, but awkwardly Arg wasn't as taken with her as she was with him.
He revealed: "Shawni's a lovely, sweet, fun, bubbly girl - but she's not really my type."
A disheartened Shawni then revealed she knew he wasn't feeling the sparks of love and said: "There's something about him that I like. I'd love to take him for pie and mash - but I don't think it's going to happen."
Despite failing to win his heart, she did have the right thing in mind - especially after Lydia Bright, Arg's girlfriend of seven years, revealed the way to his heart was through his stomach.
Speaking during an interview for her latest series The Jump, Lydia offered up all the advice she could think of to help his potential dates.
She also correctly guessed that he would use his crooning abilities to woo a lucky girl over.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Friday, former Towie star Lydia said: “I’m sure he would have serenaded the girls with his singing.
“I think my advice for any of the girls going to the island of Fernando’s with him, just feed him – that’s the way to his heart.
“Just give him lots and lots of food and he’ll be in love with you forever.”
After their break up at start of 2016, the former couple have remained close friends – with Arg advising Lydia in her latest venture on Channel 4’s The Jump.
Meanwhile, Arg is taking a break from filming The Only Way Is Essex to work on his “well-being,” The Sun Online can exclusively reveal.
The 29-year-old, who has a starring role in the show and is the only original cast member left, missed the final episodes of the last series and didn’t appear in any of the Christmas specials.
A source close to Arg has now told The Sun Online that he won’t appear in the upcoming series as he wants to be in a “stronger position” mentally and health wise before he shares his life again.
An insider said: "Arg doesn't feel ready to return to Towie. He wants to get himself in a stronger position before he commits to sharing his life on camera again and filming full time.
“He wants to return when he is able to give it 100%.”
Arg has been open about his personal problems since checking into rehab for a month in 2015.
