Robbie Williams reignites feud with Noel Gallagher years after Oasis star called him the ‘fat dancer from Take That’
Robbie used a tiny cardboard cut-out of Noel in his entrance film before he walked on stage
KARMA is a dish best served cold.
And that is exactly what Robbie Williams served up during his BST Hyde Park gig on Saturday.
He was described as the “fat dancer from Take That,” by Noel Gallagher back in the day and Robbie took his chance to get a little bit of revenge.
In a video doing the rounds on social media, Robbie used a tiny cardboard cut-out of Noel in his entrance film before he walked on stage.
Robbie can be seen walking past miniature Noel before stopping and leaning down to pat him on the head – in an apparent joke about the High Flying Birds rocker’s stature.
Robbie then leans down to give little cardboard Noel a cuddle . . . maybe to show him there are no hard feelings.
Despite the joke, Robbie covered Oasis hit Don’t Look Back In Anger on stage and, in 2022, told me he loved Noel and Liam – adding: “No matter what has been said or what has been done, I still dig the band.”
Don’t we all, Robbie.
I’d maybe hope the short joke passed Noel by, though.
Lily’s secret fight with Kate Moss
FROM Kanye West and Taylor Swift, to TV’s Phil and Holly – a juicy celebrity feud always gets my mates talking.
And Lily Allen has confessed to a corker on her Miss Me? podcast.
Now Lily doesn’t name the celebrity . . . but I will – I think it’s Kate Moss.
According to Lily, the very famous woman, er, Kate, got her goat way over a decade ago, claiming the supermodel accused her of trying to cop off with her then boyfriend Jamie Hince after they teamed up for a charity event.
Lily said: “I got a phone call from somebody very famous. She was asking me to sing a song with her boyfriend.
“She’s like, ‘I think you guys should sing The Sound Of Silence’. I was like, ‘I don’t really want to’, and she got the right hump.
“I said, ‘Look, we’ll practise the song and then we’ll sing it for you and see how you feel about it’.
“And she said, ‘If you think I’m leaving you alone with my f***ing boyfriend, you’ve got another think coming’.”
Lily got her revenge that year after nominating Kate to be the person to give her the Woman of the Year gong, which she was to receive at the 2009 GQ magazine awards.
She added: “A couple of weeks later I got asked if I would be a recipient of a very prestigious award.
“They said, ‘Is there anyone you would like to present you with the award?’. “I was like, ‘At what point in the proceedings does this award get presented?’.
“And they said it was the penultimate award.
“And I was like, there is no way this person will be able to hold themselves together for that long and, if I can stay sober, then she’ll have to present me with the award while I’m looking pristine and brilliant while she’s looking fed up.
“And it f***ing worked.”
I have brought you a picture from the event which I remember all too well. Ouch.
Fresh as a Daisy
FRESH from washing off the muck after spending three days at Glastonbury, Daisy Edgar-Jones looked incredible as she promoted her new film Twisters.
She was at Cineworld in London’s Leicester Square with co-stars Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos and Harry Hadden-Paton to celebrate its premiere.
The film, made by the producers of the Jurassic franchise and Indiana Jones, is a modern day follow-up to the 1996 classic Twister – which basically made me obsessed with tornado hunting.
I look forward to spending hours scrolling YouTube videos of twisters after watching the new one.
Her Normal People co-star Paul Mescal has also been busy, with Ridley Scott dropping a trailer for the Gladiator sequel, which also features Denzel Washington.
The film is a follow-up to the 2000 original starring Russell Crowe as Maximus, and will see Paul take on the role of Lucius, the nephew of Joaquin Phoenix’s character Commodus, who was killed by Maximus.
The original is one of the best films around and I’ve no doubt Paul will be brilliant in the follow-up.
Just a quick glance at these new stills has made me excited for it.
How Fran I take on Taylor?
THEY’RE preparing to release new album LA Times on Friday but Travis frontman Fran Healy doesn’t rate the band’s chances of chart success.
While Kasabian are odds on to get to the top spot on Friday with their epic new record Happenings, it’s likely Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department will reclaim the spot when Travis are vying for it next week.
Fran said: “Usually when bands are 50 years old, albums get s**t.
“This is not a s**t record. It is a really, really great record, but there is absolutely no chance we are going to knock Taylor Swift off No1, is there? Not unless you all help us.”
On stage at London’s O2 Arena, he added: “Can you buy it? Does anyone actually buy records any more?”
I do, Fran. And I’ll try to get you to No1 if I can.
CHARLI XCX is going rock ’n’ roll for her wedding to The 1975 drummer George Daniel.
The Boom Clap singer told the Anything Goes podcast: “As a little girl I was never ‘I’m going to get married one day’.
“But now I am planning my wedding. I’m being absolutely insane and I’m having so much fun. We’re being, like, crazy.”
Mel C bid for fest
AFTER she surprised fans by popping up during Orbital’s Glastonbury gig, Mel C has admitted she’s keen to play a solo spot at Worthy Farm again.
The Spice Girls singer said: “It would be quite nice to do it on my own. I will have some new music out next year. I’ve only done it once myself, last year. The year before I had DJ’d.”
And for fans of the Spice Girls, Mel said she is busy trying to make a Glasto show happen.
She added: “There’s room for both me and the girls, but with them it would be the ultimate. There’s nothing I would like more than to do it with the Spice Girls . . . but while they’re making their mind up, I could! The girls have never been at Glastonbury because it didn’t do pop in the Nineties.”
Get Geri Horner and Mel B in a room with a relationship counsellor first and we might make some progress . . .
Dust the look for Lourdes
Lourdes Leon must be a shoo-in for a collaboration with Flash cleaner.
The daughter of pop legend Madonna was made to wear what looked like mops on her feet for a funky photoshoot for David Koma’s new clothing line.
He said Lourdes moved with “almost animalistic grace” on set and that she “truly reflected the metamorphosis that inspired the collection”.
If I’m being honest, it just reminded me that I need to give the kitchen floor a good scrub this weekend.
But I don’t think I’ll ever understand fashion.
