RADIOHEAD guitarist Jonny Greenwood was rushed into intensive care after falling seriously ill from an infection.

The star needed emergency treatment in the hospital earlier this week.

He is now to said to be out of danger - but has axed the remaining dates of his tour.

A spokesman from the 52-year-old said: "A few days ago, Jonny became seriously ill from an infection that needed emergency hospital treatment, some of it in intensive care.

"Mercifully he is now out of danger and will soon return home."

He's been on tour in recent months with Radiohead bandmate Thom Yorke.

Their future concerts have been cancelled while Jonny fully recovers.

The statement continued: "We have been instructed by the medical team in charge of Jonny's care to cancel all engagements until he has had time to make a full recovery.

"To that end, The Smile tour of Europe in August is cancelled.

"We all wish Jonny a speedy recovery."

There have been no further details of his infection released so far.

The statements were also shared to the band's Instagram account.

His fans were quick to share their well-wishes as one fan commented:  "Take care Jonny."

Someone else penned: "Wishing Jonny a speedy recovery and sending well wishes for a return to performing."

Before a third said: "We love you Jonny and wish you a full and speedy recovery."

In recent years, the 52-year-old has also been involved in his new band, The Smile, alongside Radiohead band mate Thom Yorke and drummed Tom Skinner.
