The actor, who had a mega-bucks deal on the soap before quitting last month, has already written and directed two shorts, one of which is titled Taubman and stars his fellow Corrie co-star, Jack P.Shepherd.

Taubman was well received by a number of film festivals and has even received massive interest from New York and Palm Springs Film Festival since its release.

A source said: “Ben is said to be trying to step away from being in front of the camera as much as possible and reckons this is the perfect way to do so.”
