"I've not played there before but I've been to Margate a lot and I love Dreamland," she told us.
"I'm a massive Tracy Emin fan and I love her work and I've read her book and I'm a bit like, I love Margate because I feel like it's like going to one of your idols’ home-place."
She added: "And obviously, I've been to the Tate there and I really like all the little shops.
"A lot of people that I used to know back in the early days of my career moved to Margate. Yeah, it's quite an artists’ mecca now."
Fans heading to Dreamland on Friday will be keen to know what Paloma has in store for them, and it looks like they won't be disappointed.
The singer revealed there would be a mix of her classic songs, as well as hits from her latest album The Glorification Of Sadness that she released in February.
"I wouldn't ever be so self-indulgent to just play all the songs that I like and not any of the hits," she said.
"So yes, a bit of a celebration of summer because finally we're in summer and I think everyone's feeling a bit happier about that now.
"So I will definitely make sure it's upbeat and joyful and stuff like that."
