Paloma Faith wows at Margate’s Dreamland as the singer talks touring and parenting

PALOMA Faith had fans begging for more after she took to the stage in Margate.

The superstar singer, 43, performed at the seaside town’s iconic Dreamland on Friday.

Paloma – who is wrapping up her summer tour later this month – thrilled fans when she headed to the coast.

The gig was part of the , which sees top acts perform at the theme park.

With its twinkling lights and amphitheatre style arena, the venue was the perfect backdrop for Paloma.

The singer’s set included a good mix of classic songs as well as hits from her latest album The Glorification Of Sadness that she released in February.

Fans were also treated to her iconic tune The Only Love Can Hurt Like This, as she brought the incredible concert to a close.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun ahead of the gig, Paloma revealed why she had been looking forward to singing in the popular seaside town.

“I’ve not played there before but I’ve been to Margate a lot and I love Dreamland,” she told us.

“I’m a massive Tracy Emin fan and I love her work and I’ve read her book and I’m a bit like, I love Margate because I feel like it’s like going to one of your idols’ home-place.”

She added: “And obviously, I’ve been to the Tate there and I really like all the little shops.

“A lot of people that I used to know back in the early days of my career moved to Margate. Yeah, it’s quite an artists’ mecca now.”

Mum-of-two Paloma also chatted to us about how she mixes touring with parenting.

The singer opened up about how she feels about being away from her children as she faces the demands of her music career.

Paloma has two daughters, eight and three, who she shares with her ex-husband Leyman Lehcine.

She told us: “I have it (mum guilt) all day.

“I had it this morning because I just got back off holiday for two weeks being with my kids all day every day.

“This morning I woke up, got them ready, got their breakfast and then had to go to work and the nanny came and I just was like, I feel really bad.

“Because they are on summer holidays and I wish I could have the same holidays as them from school.”

When asked if her children ever attended gigs or visited her on tour, the singer said: “They do sometimes. I mean like they love coming.

“On the tour it’s a bit more straightforward but a lot of these festival ones because they’re like just one-offs, sometimes I’m in a car on the way home.

“And then it’s like driving back in the night and I don’t want to make them do that because I think they’ll get really tired.

“When it’s a tour bus they come when we’ve got beds on the bus,” she added.
