DONALD Glover, known by his stage name, Childish Gambino, has canceled tonight's The New World Tour stop just hours before the show.
The singer put out a statement on X on Saturday to explain his reasoning.
Donald, 40, decided not to go through with his Mohegan Sun, Connecticut, show tonight after disagreements with production.
"While creating THE NEW WORLD TOUR, the idea was to give fans a new experience. We use a lot of new technologies, and when doing so, technical difficulties can arise," he .
"Delivering a quality show that all of us @ GILGA can be proud of has remained paramount to us. A show I would be proud to bring to all the Childish Gambino fans across the world."
"This has created some challenges in some settings. due to production issues, tonight’s Childish Gambino concert @ Mohegan Sun must be canceled. Refunds will be issued at point of purchase," Childish went on.
"Personally, I'm really upset by this. I just met some fans in the lobby and a father who drove out w/ his daughter's bday and was trying to get a shoutout (happy birthday btw). The team is coming up w/ a way to make it up to fans, so we'll be in contact w/ everyone who bought a Mohegan Sun ticket."
"I know tickets, hotels, driving, all that isn't cheap, so we'll come up with something. Again, my deepest apologies," he ended.
Donald has two shows in Brooklyn at Barclays Center on August 26 and 27.
As of now, he has not indicated these shows or any others on his tour will be canceled.

Fans were disappointed but also understood the reasoning for the cancelation.
In the comments, his followers said they were "really looking forward" to the concert.
"I was really looking forward to seeing the show tonight," one fan said.
"My god I was just getting all my stuff ready and literally had my car running. Thankful I didn’t leave yet but so frustrated I’ll never be able to see him now," said another.
"I just drove an hour and 45 minutes and we are currently 5 minutes away from the venue… come on, man," added a third.

RETIRING CHILDISH
In April, Donald revealed that he is retiring his moniker Childish Gambino.
“It really was just like, ‘Oh, it’s done,’” he told The in July.
“It’s not fulfilling. And I just felt like I didn’t need to build in this way anymore.”
“I’m not 25 anymore, standing in front of a boulder like, ‘This has to move,’” Donald said.
“You give what you can, but there’s beauty everywhere in every moment. You don’t have to build it. You don’t have to search for it.”

“When I put my son on my shoulders, I feel deep joy. That’s real. No one on their deathbed is going to look back and say, ‘Thank God I avoided being cringe'," Donald went on.
Under the moniker, which Donald adapted over 10 years ago, he released six studio albums and has won five Grammy Awards.
