'I NEED HELP'

Marnie Simpson’s cheating ex Lewis Bloor reveals he’s going to have therapy as he blames his ‘jealousy and insecurities’ on his dad abandoning him as a teen

He was filmed cheating on Marnie on Valentine’s Day but now Lewis reveals the ‘twisted logic’ behind his actions

LEWIS Bloor is going into therapy to treat issues surrounding jealousy and insecurity which he says are “ruining” his life and are to blame for him cheating on Marnie Simpson.

The former Towie star was exposed as a cheat when The Sun Online published video footage of him being unfaithful to on Valentine’s Day.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online Lewis has revealed that he’ll stop at nothing to win Marnie back – but it means tackling his painful past, including his dad leaving home when he was 14.

Lewis explained that his parents’ marriage breakdown may have contributed to his insecurities.

“I’ve spoken to my mum and Marnie and we’ve all agreed that I need help. I’ve booked to see a psychiatrist this week who will diagnose me and suggest which is the best therapy course for me.

“I’m really insecure and jealous about relationships, it could be because my mum and dad split up when I was 14 after he cheated on her and left us, and while I don’t know if that is to blame for the way I behave, it’s something that I need discuss with a professional.

“Cheating on Marnie hurt my mum so much, she was disgusted as she’s been through it too, and that absolutely destroyed me seeing her so upset and disappointed.”

Lewis adds that he finds it difficult to see “popular” Marnie on TV with her ex and his insecurities spark fears he’s not good enough for her.

He reckons that aside from his past insecurities with his dad, it was the mix of paranoid thoughts and alcohol that led him to sleep with someone else after a Drake concert on Valentine’s Day and ultimately “ruin his life.”

“I’m a complete lightweight and I was very emotional and drunk that night, and suddenly the logic in my head tells me, ‘Right, the girl you love is off doing Geordie Shore, something bad is going to happen.’

“I didn’t cheat to hurt her, but I did it to make myself feel more secure, which I know is the most stupid logic there is and it’s completely ruined my life.

“The next day I felt terrible but just decided to pretend it never happened and I would’ve probably carried on like that if I hadn’t been caught.”

The former Towie star says having Marnie away filming Geordie Shore played on his jealousy problems

“I’m extremely insecure about mine and Marnie’s relationship because she’s a powerful, wonderful person and sometimes I wonder whether I’m good enough or if I’m just holding her back in life.”

Despite insisting he’d never ask Marnie to quit the controversial MTV reality show, which sees the cast getting drunk most nights and often having sex in front of the cameras, he does admit that his girlfriend having a starring role only made his existing insecurities worse – especially when she was filming with her ex-boyfriend Aaron Chalmers.

Lewis reveals he still loves Marnie and will do anything to get her back

“The bottom line is it’s f***ing hard being in love with a girl on Geordie Shore.

“I was a nervous wreck when she was away filming and never knew what to expect, she even told me that she’d played a sex positions game with Aaron in a club for everyone to see.

“That’s in no way an excuse for cheating and I know she’d never be unfaithful, but things like that play on my insecurities and twist my logic.”

Lewis insists he still loves Marnie and says it “kills” him that he hurt her

The personal trainer says he doesn’t know if he and Marnie will ever get back together, but he’s hoping that therapy will give him a fighting chance.

“I love her, she is the kindest most wonderful person there is, it kills me that I’ve hurt her and I want her to know that my cheating had nothing to do with her, it was all down to problems deep within me.

“I’ll do anything to win Marnie back, I don’t know if she’ll ever want to be with me again, as I’ve broken her heart, but she’s still the girl I want to marry and have children with.”

He adds: “Facing my demons in therapy will be tough, and even if Marnie and I never get back together, I want her to know she is worth everything I’ll be going through.”
