Bruce Willis, 69, makes rare public appearance with bodyguards as he puts on brave face during dementia battle
BRUCE Willis has made a rare public appearance over one year after he was diagnosed with dementia.
The Pulp Fiction actor, 69, was photographed during a car ride in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, September 8, as seen in pictures obtained by The U.S. Sun.
In the photos, Bruce was seated in the passenger seat of the vehicle while accompanied by bodyguards.
The star, best known for leading the Die Hard films, was wearing a black cap and a striped, button-up T-shirt during a trip to Studio City in Los Angeles.
Bruce's most recent outing comes more than 18 months after his family announced that the Emmy winner had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

"For people under 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because getting the diagnosis can take years, FTD is likely much more prevalent than we know," the message continued.
"Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead.
"As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research," the beloved actor's family appealed.
Bruce retired from acting after four decades in the industry, after initially being diagnosed with aphasia, a cognitive disorder that impacts a person's ability to communicate.
