Ed Sheeran reveals he wrote Shape of You for Little Mix before deciding to keep it for himself
The singer admitted after finishing the track he wanted to release himself
ED Sheeran has revealed that he actually wrote his big hit Shape Of You for Little Mix.
But the singer admitted that once he had finished writing it, the track was "too good" to giveaway.
Speaking to BeBox, the 26-year-old hit-maker said: "We started it [the song] for Little Mix originally and then kinda like half way through I was actually like this sounds like Rihanna, it could be good for Rihanna and then more of the way through, we were like yeah, this is actually pretty good.
"We should keep it."
Ed has actually written songs for lots of bands and singers that people don't know about.
He has lent his writing skills to One Direction, Rixton, Olly Murs and many more.

He has also worked with and written songs for his good friend Taylor Swift
Yesterday Ed hinted he'd slept with someone from Taylor's girl squad.
The pair have been pals for years after he supported her on her 2013 Red world tour .
Speaking to Rolling Stone he said: "I was this 22-year-old awkward British kid going on tour with the biggest artist in America, who has all these famous mates.
"It was very easy. I would often find myself in situations just kind of waking up and looking over and being like, 'How the f*** did that happen?'"
