Who is Salvador Sobral and what is his song Amar Pelos Dois about?

Salvador Sobral was born on December 28, 1989 in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.

The 27-year-old singer competed on the third series of Idolos, Portugal’s version of Pop Idol in 2009.

It seems that talent runs in Salavdor’s family as his sister, Luísa Sobral, also competed in the Portuguese contest coming third in the first season.

He sung Amar Pelos Dois, the title of which means “Love for both”.

The song was composed and written by his sister, Luísa.

It’s entirely in Portuguese and proved popular at the semi-finals.
