LIAM Payne’s ex fiancée Maya Henry claimed he “predicted his early death” and she had “tried to get him help” before yesterday’s tragedy.
The One Direction star, 31, tragically died on Wednesday afternoon after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires.
American model Maya, 23, who dated Liam between 2019 and 2022, made haunting comments on a podcast just two days before the singer was found dead.
Speaking on podcast, she said: “There was one time I tried to get him help, but he was not taking it.”
She added: “He would always message me after we broke up, he would say, ‘I’m not well’.
“He would always play with death, and be like ‘well I’m going to die, I’m not doing well’.
“I know the lifestyle that he lives and there is a day that something is going to happen.
“So I would always be like, OK, he’s saying these things, I am going to have to help him because I am not going to be able to live with myself if something happens to him.”
It comes as:
- Liam’s cause of death was released by medics
- A heartbreaking 911 call from worried hotel staff was revealed
- Cops are reportedly set to hunt for a drug dealer
- Cheryl ‘feared the worst’ for her ex
- Liam’s girlfriend revealed why she left Argentina

Earlier this month Maya instructed her legal team to send a cease and desist letter to the pop star after accusing him of repeatedly contacting her and her loved ones.
The pair had an on-off, three-year relationship, which was said to have ended for good in May 2022.
In a statement to The Sun, a spokesperson said: “Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information.
“She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this time, that is her only comment on the matter.”
She has since broken her silence on her ex’s tragic death, with a rep telling media: “She is understandably in shock”.
Liam is survived by his seven-year-old son Bear, born from his two-year relationship with Girls Aloud Singer Cheryl.
The Wolverhampton-born singer was an original member of the world famous boy band One Direction alongside Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles.
He was in Argentina to see former bandmate Niall perform.
A spokesperson for the security ministry of Buenos Aires said police were called to Casa Sur Palermo Hotel by a member of staff who called 911 to report an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol”.
Witnesses said Liam smashed his laptop and had to be carried back to his room after behaving erratically.
Heartbroken friends and fans have been paying tribute to the beloved pop star taken far too soon.
X Factor star Olly Murs told fans he was “devastated” and “lost for words”.
He wrote on social media: “Liam shared the same passions as me, the same dreams so to see his life now end so young hits hard, I’m truly gutted and devastated for his Family and of course his son Bear losing a dad x”.
Liam Gallagher said he was “very sad” and told his followers on X: “Life is precious Kids, you only get to do it once, go easy.”
Harry Styles’ mum was the first to break silence from One Direction’s camp.
She posted a broken heart emoji over a black screen with the caption: “Just a boy…”
Former X Factory presenter Dermot O’Leary has also expressed his shock.
He said: “I remember him as a 14 year old turning up to audition on The X Factor, and blowing us away singing Sinatra. He just loved to sing.
“He was always a joy, had time for everyone, polite, grateful, and was always humble.”
