IT has been fourteen years since Emer Kenny played the rebellious Zsa Zsa Carter in the internet spin off- EastEnders: E20.
Now married with a small child, the actress is almost unrecognisable from the blue haired bad girl that made her name in the industry.
She first appeared as the daughter of Tina Carter and Mark Reynolds early in 2010 and as well as appearing in the E20 spin off, her character also enjoyed stints on the main BBC show.
But far from just being a face onscreen,, Emer is also a talented writer and also wrote several episodes of E20 in which her character featured.
Following on from her success as a writer on the spin off, she became one of the youngest ever writers to be accepted into the BBC Writers academy and wrote an episode for EastEnders in 2012.
The London-born actress also went on to star in the Channel 4 comedy series, Beaver Falls, The BBC 3 drama Pramface and the BBC 3 sitcom, Badults.
Then in 2017 she enjoyed a role as Penelope ‘Bunty’ Windermere in the BBC’s period detective drama, Father Brown
In 2016, Emer married TV presenter Rick Edwards, who is best known for hosting TV, Channel 4’s Paralympic coverage and BBC quiz show, Impossible. Sine November 2021, he has co-hosted the BBC Breakfast 5 Live breakfast show.
The couple made headlines in 2021 when they admitted that they sleep in separate bedrooms, so that Emer’s sleep isn’t disturbed by Rick’s super early 3.30 am wake up call for hi 5 live breakfast show.
Their son was born in January 2023.
