Disney fans are furious that Mulan live-action remake won’t feature any of its original songs
Fans were delivered another brutal blow after it was revealed that Captain Li Shang could be replaced by a new character
MULAN has, hands down, some of the best songs of any Disney film - so it's unsurprising that fans are fuming after finding out that the live-action remake may not feature ANY of them.
The film's director, Niki Caro, shocked its legion of fans when she told : "From what I understand, no songs right now, much to the horror of my children."
This means that it would differ greatly to Disney's live-action version Beauty and the Beast, which features all the original songs from the 1991 classic and then some.
Mulan will, however, will feature Chinese actors after Disney responded to whitewashing allegations last year.
Filming has not yet begun, so this could all change after hearing the outcry from fans on social media.
One tweeted: "Mulan is the literally the best Disney princess, she saved the whole of China and she doesn't even get music in her own film."
Another fan commented: "Be a Man from Mulan is the best Disney song of all time don't @ me."
A third angrily remarked: "Disney Mulan, a "girly martial arts extravaganza" without original songs and Li Shang is *not* Disney Mulan."

There was more salt in the wound for fans as it was also revealed that iconic character Captain Li Shang, considered the first bisexual character in a Disney cartoon, could be replaced by a new character who will serve as her rival.
One commented: "Dear Disney, 'Girly martial arts extravaganza'? NO MUSIC?? Mushu said it best... (Oh wait, there'll probably be no Mushu, right? 🙄) #Mulan."
Another had a meltdown: "NO ICONIC SONGS?? NO BISEXUAL LEGEND CAPTAIN LI SHANG??? DISNEY AIN'T ABOUT TO RUIN MULAN LIKE THIS I WON'T ALLOW IT."
A third tweeted: "disney: *gets rid of shang bc of gay stuff* me: I LOVE CAPTAIN LI SHANG, BISEXUAL ICON OF MY CHILDHOOD, AND HIS TRANS BF MULAN SO SO MUCH."
Oh dear.
