Who is Max Vickers? Gavin Rossdale’s semi-finalist on The Voice 2017 and former X Factor star – all you need to know
MAX Vickers has been wowing audiences across the nation as he battles it on The Voice.
But what else do we know about the kooky singer - here is what we have found out...
Who is Max Vickers?
Max Vickers is 24-years-old and from Warrington.
He is an indie/rock singer.
He is known for appearing on ITV's The Voice UK.
How well has Max Vickers done on The Voice?
Max has so far got through to the semi-finals of The Voice.
His mentor is Bush singer Gavin Rossdale.
Max auditioned alongside his housemate Mo Adeniran.
Mo had all four chairs spinning round in the first audition, while Max only had Gavin.
But despite this, the pair insist there is no rivalry between them, and they are still the best of friends.
Last week Max wowed the judges and viewers with his version of Arctic Monkeys' 2005 hit I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor.
His performance saw him sailing through to the semi-finals after the public voted him in.
When did Max Vickers appear on X Factor?
Max's first brush with reality TV was on The X Factor in 2011, but he only made it as far as Judges' Houses after Gary Barlow decided to put through controversial Frankie Cocozza instead.
Now Max has told The Daily Star that he is treated much better on The Voice, saying: “On X Factor they used you and it didn’t feel right. The Voice is more respectable.
“The whole process feels better. Here you get more creativity. You feel like you have more freedom to do what you want, song choices and everything.”
He also feels that contestants benefit much more from the coaching on The Voice than they do on Simon Cowell’s show.
Max explained: “I thought the whole coach thing was just going to be for TV on The Voice but Gavin has been so hands-on and more involved than I had hoped.”
And despite saying he wants to “lose the X Factor tag”, he does admit he regrets tweeting: “F*** Gary Barlow” in 2014.
He said: “I wrote it a while ago but I can’t imagine Gary is sitting up and saying, ‘I can’t believe what Max said about me five years ago.’”
Is Max Vickers related to X Factor contestant Diana Vickers?
Although they share the same surname, Max Vickers and Diana Vickers are NOT related.
They both however did appear on The X Factor, but not the same year.
Diana appeared on the show in 2008, while Max was three years later in 2011.
