Strictly Come Dancing judge Darcey Bussell opens up about the chances of Craig Revel Horwood replacing Len Goodman as head judge
DARCEY Bussell reckons that Craig Revel Horwood won't be taking over the position of Strictly head judge from Len Goodman.
Darcey, 47, admitted that she thinks that he might be too busy producing the show to sit in the hot seat.
This comes after The Sun revealed in December that SHE might be the one who to nab the promotion.
When asked about idea of Craig taking on the job, she told : "I suppose maybe it would be Craig – but he’s a bit of a producer now. He produces a lot behind the scenes."
But she admitted that she has no idea what the plans are for the next series and that they won't tell her or her fellow judges "until the last minute".
The former world famous ballerina said: "It's all gone very quiet all of a sudden on the rumoured names front. I'm nervous - it's a good nervous, not bad nerves - but, yeah, I'm getting excited."
She added that she thinks everything will be announced when the celebrities are revealed.
Darcey admitted that she would miss Len being on the panel.
The dancer said: "He is incredibly clever, brilliant at what he does. He’s an institution. He has his own Len Goodman academy, totally successful at everything he does. It was a real pleasure to be with him."
It wasn't all tears for Len - after all, the judge was left with £3.3MILLION in the bank after quitting his role.
The legendary dancer was paid £120,000 a year for each season of the BBC show he appeared on, but that’s dwarfed by the money he has in the bank.
Len exclusively revealed to The Sun that his fear of dying without having spent enough time with his family prompted his decision to scale back his work commitments.
Len said: “Maybe I have got one or two years left in me being a judge, but it’s the right time and I’ve had a wonderful 12 years.
“My father died when he was 79 and I’m 72. God willing I’ll live to be 99, but there’s always that chance that in six or seven years I could be brown bread.
“So I want to spend more time with my family as I’ve now got a granddaughter. I want to be able to do all these things.”
