Danny Jones’ romance with wife Georgia and how he chased her for a YEAR for a date – but now she says they ‘have no sex’
The former Miss England model complained about one parental duty Danny slacks on
MCFLY guitarist and current I’m A Celeb contestant Danny Jones is known for his charisma on stage, but it seems this wasn’t enough to catch the attention of his true love at first.
His relationship with his wife Georgia Horsley got off to a bit of a false start when their paths crossed at an event in 2008.
The former Miss England model recently opened up about the early days of their romance while on Never Have I Ever with Joel Dommett and Hannah Cooper.
She told the podcast hosts that sparks didn’t immediately fly between them, admitting: “He was a bit of a d*ck, and I didn’t really like him.”
Despite her lukewarm first impression, Danny was smitten with Georgia and spent the next year trying to win her over.
“He tried for a year,” she revealed. “I do like to drop that into conversation every now and again. He wanted me for a year.
“I said no. I was totally chilled when we went on the date.
“I didn’t really want to. My mum went, ‘Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.'”
She pointed out that she had reasons to be skeptical about his true intentions when trying to woo her, adding: “I said he’s probably going to be a bit of a top shagger, isn’t he. I just assumed.
“I treated him mean, kept him keen – without realising. I didn’t know I was doing that.”
Georgia finally agreed to a date, and the rest is history.
The couple got engaged in 2013 during a romantic holiday in Cyprus, and Danny has since joked that he planned the proposal with the stealth of an MI5 mission.
A year later, they tied the knot in Georgia’s hometown of Malton.
Danny admitted he was overwhelmed when he saw his bride, telling : “When I saw Georgia, I couldn’t really take it. My legs shook. It was the most amazing view I’ve ever seen.”
Now Danny and Georgia are parents to a six-year-old, things have slowed down from the heady days of their earlier whirlwind romance.
While chatting with Hannah, Georgia humorously touched on the struggles of juggling the responsibilities of parenthood along with their love life – with reference to Danny’s penchant for using mouth tape at night.
When asked what its purpose is, Georgia hummed and hawed.
“I think it helps you sleep better,” she answered, uncertainly. “It’s better for your health. It improves your jawline apparently.”
She added: “Do you know what it’s really good for? Not having to – “
Hannah cut in, quipping: “Have sex?”
Although that wasn’t what Georgia was getting at, she did take the chance to admit that these days her and Danny are not very active in the bedroom, joking: “We don’t need mouth tape for that.”
She then finished her original point, saying: “Not having to answer your son when he calls out in the middle of the night.
“Not only was it all on me already, Danny can’t even answer even if he wanted to. Because he’s gagged.”
