EastEnders spoilers: Denise Fox will be forced to rely on food banks as she struggles to find work
Poor Denise struggles to get work at the Job Centre before a familiar face tries to give her cash
EASTENDERS writers really have it in for Denise Fox — as the character's so down on her luck she'll soon be visiting a food bank, and bumping into a familiar face.
Denise, played by Diane Parish, has been on a downward spiral after quitting her job at the Minute Mart, and now viewers will see her trying to get work at the Job Centre in Thursday's episode.
Being short on cash, poor Denise — who has no luck finding any opportunities for work — decides to hit up a local food bank for basic supplies.
There, to her surprise, she bumps into Cora Cross — the grandmother of Lauren and Abi Branning — who was last seen on Albert Square around Christmas 2015.
It transpires that Cara now works at this food bank, after being homeless for a time herself — and she takes pity on Denise, who became an outcast after giving birth to Phil Mitchell's secret lovechild earlier this year.
Keen to help, kind soul Cora offers to give Denise some money, and ends up chasing her along the pavement with a £10 note.
The pair end up having a heated discussion in an alleyway, surrounded by rubbish.
Close to tears, Denise slumps against a wall next to an old mattress and has to be helped up by the older woman.
Fan favourite Cora — played by Ann Mitchell — is making a big return to Walford soon, and it seems she will be helping Denise escape her dire situation.
A twist of fate recently revealed Denise was adopted, something she only found out after putting her and Phil's child up for adoption.
