Sex Education star, 24, found guilty of 26 sex offences including raping teen & forcing pupils to read Shakespeare naked

A SEX Education star raped a teenage girl in his acting class and forced pupils to recite Shakespeare naked.

Alexander Westwood, who also starred in BBC's Doctors, has today been found guilty of 26 sex offences against women and children.

The actor, 24, was found to have committed a string of heinous sex offence dating back to when he was just ten.

Westwood forced pupils in his drama class to read Shakespeare naked and engage in role-play scenarios naked.

He also filmed one aspiring actress naked on his iPad, before trying to bill her family for £18,000 when she started missing his lessons after he sexually abused her.

Westwood, who starred in 17 episodes of Netflix's Sex Education, was described as a "supreme manipulator" who used his stardom to prey on victims.

But he was convicted by a jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court today.

His trial earlier heard how he sexually abused one girl multiple times, also abused a boy and raped a teenage actress.

The first of the 26 sex offences relates to his tenth birthday - the age at which criminality begins in the UK.

Westwood, who had a "fascination" with pornography, also forced a girl to drink his urine during a seven-year campaign of abuse.

Andrew Wallace, prosecuting, told the court: "Alexander Westwood is an actor.

"He is a supreme manipulator. All these charges have a common theme, of inappropriate touching and predatory behaviour.

"The ten indictments concerning a girl, the first charge is on the date of his tenth birthday, that is the date because there is not criminality before this age."

One victim was "forced to act out the most inappropriate scenes", while another was systematically abused as she followed her dream of going to drama college.

The court heard Westwood's sexual offending "became a lifestyle".

Mr Wallace added: "If we were to list every instance there would be hundreds of charges."

One pupil who accused Westwood of sexual deviancy and controlling behaviour.

But the actor then told her mum "she should be admitted to a psychiatric hospital because she is going off the rails".

Mr Wallace continued: "Then when giving acting lessons, he again used this as an opportunity to touch his pupils inappropriately.

"These are schoolgirls we are talking about, teenagers. Imagine asking Dame Judy Dench to recite Hamlet naked, she would tell you where to go."

Another victim, who said she was raped by the star, was reduced to tears on the stand as she relived "the hell" of her encounter with him.

She said: "He would get very angry and hold me down by my wrists, I would have to bite him just to get away from him.

"He would ask me for sex and when I said no would carry on. I would tell him I did not want to because I was not happy, but he would just ignore me.

"He would get angry and throw things. He would regularly pin me down by my wrists so I could not move.

"I would have to bite him to get him off me. He would lie, lie and lie. He told my mother I needed to be in a psychiatric hospital."

The mum of another teenage victim said her daughter had attended lessons at the actor's flat alone in 2021.

She told of how she was forced to have sex during classes and filmed naked on Westwood's iPad.

Westwood will be sentenced in February.
