Mel B’s ex Stephen Belafonte surrounded by federal agents and ‘searched for firearms’ outside his Hollywood Hills home
The singer's ex spoke out to insist he had "no idea" what had happened
MEL B's ex Stephen Belafonte was caught on camera as he was surrounded by federal agents outside his Hollywood Hills home on Friday night.
According to , the star was returning home when he was met by the officers, who were allegedly searching for firearms.
Asked for his name, Stephen replied before appearing to get patted down outside his home.
Officers, reportedly from the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, were then seen entering the house.
The US site claims they were carrying a crowbar and other tools at the time, but left empty handed.
Stephen was later filmed getting into his car, and shared his confusion at the visit with reporters.
As a reporter said: "You're out of cuffs that's a good sign", Stephen replied: "I was never in cuffs."
Asked what's happening, Stephen said: "I have no idea. Maybe someone's pranking me."
It comes after the star appeared to make a raunchy joke about claims he enjoyed an open marriage with Mel B just days ago.

The film producer, 41, uploaded a picture showing a man seemingly in bed with two women.
The raunchy snap, which was posted to Stephen's Instagram page, shows a man resting his face on one of the women's thigh and his hand grasping the leg of the other.
Kim Kardashian uploaded it to her Instagram page, and then Stephen shared it to his own.
In the caption, Stephen joked that it was him and Mel in the snap, writing: "Is that my mouth??? Is that @officialmelb ring??"
Stephen shared the picture nearly a year ago, and it appeared to be a saucy hint about the couple's racy sex life.
The pair separated in December, and divorce papers were filed earlier this month.
Mel, 41, cited irreconcilable difference when she filed for divorce and is aiming for joint custody of their daughter Madison, five.
The America’s Got Talent judge has ruled out any spousal support cash for Stephen, and this week she was spotted visiting her lawyer's office.
