Haunting music kicks off the action-packed scenes which see Tom in role as Nick rush to an explosion.

They swiftly switch to a gun battle, where he comes under fire and can be heard screaming "Get down!"

As a number of buildings go up in flames, it causes a groundswell, opening a huge split in the barren desert and revealing the head of a huge Egyptian figure sculpted from sand.

The astounded character remarks: "What the hell?" before being sent in to investigate.

He soon discovers the underground world is in fact the 2,000-year-old prison of Egyptian Queen Ahmanet, who was tipped to lead a sparkling royal life before she turned evil.

The lengthy clip hints the tables have now turned, with Ahmanet attempting to use Nick's skills to regain her own ancient powers.

The two-minute trailer follows on from an initial 30-second clip for the same movie released yesterday.

The new film is a reboot of the 90s classic films of the same name – with Tom taking on the role originally portrayed by Brendan Fraser.
