Former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan says the soap ‘is not part of my life anymore’ as she denies comeback rumours as Zoe Slater
The 32-year-old actress would refuse to return if she was asked by BBC bosses
ACTRESS Michelle Ryan would refuse the chance to return to EastEnders as Zoe Slater.
The 32-year-old actress played the character from 2000 until 2005 and was involved in the classic "You ain't my mother!" scenes with Jessie Wallace who played her sister-turned-mother Kat Slater.
But despite her place in Walford history, Michelle has no plans to return to Albert Square, either now or in the future.
She told The Daily Star: "It's not part of my life any more, I won't be going back.
"I feel it would be the right thing to recast the role.
"There will be some actress out there that are desperate for that break."
The actress quit EastEnders 11 year ago and like many of her fellow co-stars she tried to make in Hollywood.
She enjoyed brief success in a remake of Bionic Woman – however the show was cancelled in 2007 after just one season.
Since then she has starred in a number of independent films and has most recently worked on The Last Photograph.

The film – which also stars Jaime Winston, Vincent Regan and Danny Huston - centres on on Tom Hammond (Danny) whose life changes when his most treasured possession – photograph of him and his son is stolen.
Michelle has also guest starred in Death in Paradise in 2014 and will next be seen in a film called The Last Photograph.
