Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher opens up about family life and says he’s feels ‘valued’ after brief split from wife

EMMERDALE star Kelvin Fletcher has revealed he learnt some big life lessons during a brief split from his wife Liz Marsland.
The couple, who married in 2015 and will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary next year, have reflected on their slower pace of life since swapping busy schedules for farming.

Appearing on BBC Breakfast together, Kelvin and Liz revealed they couldn't be happier since swapping soap life for their Peak District farm.
Kelvin is a seasoned actor best known for his roles on Emmerdale as Andy Sugden and for winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2019.
Yet the star wanted a different pace of life, making the move to farming in 2021.
Speaking on the morning TV show, Kelvin explained: "I think for me, I personally don’t want to seek any sort of validation elsewhere.

"I know how valued we are as a family and what we do in our small family farm, and I share that with every other family farm.
"You take great pride in producing food and having a real acknowledgement towards nature, towards the habitat.
"You’re a custodian of the land, and it’s a privilege."
The family documented their adaptation to farm life in their series Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure and Fletchers’ Family Farm, and have now successfully settled into agricultural life.

The farm now boasts 100 sheep, 30 pigs, 10 horses, six chickens, a cat and Ginger the dog as well as their family with four children under the age of 7.

The comments come after Kelvin and Liz's marriage has gone from strength to strength as they settled into farm life as a family.
The couple split in 2010 briefly after Kelvin received lots of attention from fans including risqué texts and pictures.
A close source told us at the time: "Liz has always been jealous of the attention Kelvin receives.
"He is always getting stopped by girls wanting his autograph when he's on nights out.
"Kelvin assures her nothing goes on but over the years it has worn her down and she decided that she just couldn't continue seeing him."
The split wasn't permanent though, with the pair able to rekindle their romance and reunite.
