Phillip Schofield in awe after teen star of Peppa Pig speaks to him in iconic voice on This Morning – and leaves kids at home so confused

PHILIP Schofield’s jaw dropped when Harley Bird – the teenage star of Peppa Pig – started to speak in the character’s voice during an appearance on This Morning.

Harley, 15, has been working as the voice of the famous children’s character for the past decade.

During her appearance on the show, where she was interviewed alongside her onscreen mum Morwenna Banks, Harley admitted she can switch between the voices with complete ease.

This Morning host Phil looked thrilled by her admission and said to her: “You know what I’m going to ask you to do now, don’t you?”

Harley grinned before launching into Peppa’s voice – even oinking and snorting for good measure as she pretended to chastise her younger brother George.

Harley said: “Hello, I’m Peppa Pig. George, if you jump in muddy puddles, you must wear you boots.”

Phil was in awe of her voice and told her: “It’s extraordinary, it’s amazing.”

Harley has been the voice of Peppa since series three. She was signed to the Alphabet Kidz agency shortly before her sixth birthday and landed her cartoon role just a couple of weeks later.

She is the third person to be the voice of Peppa and although she’s now 15, and Peppa is just four years old, she’s determined to continue as the character for as long as possible.

Harley’s appearance on This Morning didn’t just cause a stir in the studio however, with fans of the show revealing how confused their kids were at “hearing but not seeing Peppa”.

One tweeted: “My 3 year old is really confused... She can hear Peppa Pig but can't see her.”

Another wrote: “My kid has no idea what’s going on. Where is Peppa?”

Peppa Pig is broadcast in 180 territories in over 40 languages.

Incredibly, when Harley took on the role of the famous pig when she was five, she couldn't actually read.

She explained: “I couldn't read at all and it's a little bit difficult when you've got a five-year-old who's meant to be reading scripts.

“So all the Peppa guys used to tell me how they wanted me to say the line and I just got used to copying them.

“So as well as doing an amazing job they were also teaching me how to read as well.”
