Thor: Ragnarok UK release date is TODAY! Cast, plot and trailer for latest Marvel movie
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and his partner in crime the Hulk are set to bring one of the most exciting team ups in Marvel cinematic history
THOR: Ragnarok is out TODAY and Marvel fans are super excited to see the Norse god back in action.
This universal road trip with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and his partner in crime the Hulk is set to bring one of the most exciting team-ups in Marvel cinematic history.
When is Thor: Ragnarok out in the UK?
Thor: Ragnarok’s UK release date is TODAY, October 27, 2017, while in the US it is due out on November 3.
Thor’s third solo outing will arrive in cinemas after Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and the hotly anticipated Spiderman: Homecoming.
Ragnarok takes place before the final movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's third phase, Avengers: Infinity War, and is expected to act as a bridge towards the final clash with Thanos.
What is the storyline?
Following the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor is held captive on the planet Sakaar.
Without his trusty hammer, Thor must defeat his old friend The Hulk.
They return to Asgard in order to stop the evil Hela from bringing Ragnarok and destroying Asgardian civilisation.
Who is in the cast of Thor: Ragnarok?
Chris Hemsworth will be returning as Thor albeit with a shorter haircut that has left fans rather upset.
Mark Ruffalo will be showing up as the Hulk as the two main heroes are expected to traipse across the universe on an intergalactic road-trip.
Hela, the ruler of Hel and Niflheim, is played by Cate Blanchette.
The teaser trailer showed her go toe-to-toe with Thor and win – not to mention break poor Mjolnir.
Tom Hiddleston returns as Loki in his fourth turn at playing Thor’s sly stepbrother.
Loki was last seen disguised as Odin at the end of the Thor: The Dark World.
Jeff Goldblum will play the Grandmaster who is fascinated with gaming and chance.
He is a pleasure-seeking hedonist who rules the planet Skaar.
Tessa Thompson stars as the Asgardian warrior Valkyrie who will serve as both the love interest and foil for Thor in the absence of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster.
Her character has spurned her Asgardian heritage entirely whilst Thor believes it will create a bond between them.
Idris Elba returns as the all-seeing and all-hearing guardian of the Bifrost Bridge.
Anthony Hopkins is rumoured to re-appear in Ragnarok as Odin.
What's in the trailer?
Both teasers and trailers alike have been released but so far they aren't revealing too much about the storyline.
We come to see some of the events that appear to precede Hulk and Thor’s meeting as the thunder god confronts Cate Blanchette’s character Hela – the Norse goddess of death.
Sadly for Thor it ends rather badly, both for him and his trusty hammer Mjolnir.
What follows is essentially Thor and Hulk finding each other in a gladiatorial arena before assembling a team of their own to take on the powerful Hela together.
