Sofia Vergara looks unrecognisable and years younger in nude, make-up free bed selfie

SOFIA Vergara has wowed her 12.2million followers with a beautiful au naturel selfie that shows her with not a scrap of make-up on her face.

The Modern Family star has a famously glamorous image, but she ditched it completely for the nude snap, taken as she lay snug in her bed.

Without eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, cover-up or powder, brunette Sofia still looks completely gorgeous, and much younger to boot.

The Columbian-American wanted to share the snap because she has been suffering with a fever and was surprised by how red her cheeks had become.

The Hot Pursit star, 44, captioned the snap: "Hm..I just realised that 102 fever gives u the perfect shades of pink.

"I need this colors @covergirl #Imawimp #thatswhatIgetforshootingintheraininRome #iwouldntmakeitpast2daysonNakedandAfraid."

Indeed, Sofia is currently in Rome for her work on her upcoming movie Bent, and before falling ill was busy enjoying the local culture and cuisine.

We already know Sofia adores pizza because she sometimes boasts about ordering it in for her and her second husband, 40-year-old Magic Mike actor Joe Manganiello.

Hopefully the hotel where she's staying delivers room service pizza for its poorly and famous customers.

And she won't have to do any of her American hubby's intense work-out routines as Manganiello has not joined his wife in Italy to look after her.

He's busy promoting his new movie Smurfs: The Lost Village, which he lends his voice to along with Demi Lovato.

Sofia said of her husband's influence last year: 'I’ve been doing more exercises now because Joe, of course, loves working out, and I understand more how important it is for health.'

After hitting the silver screen in films like Chef, Machete Kills and Lords of Dogtown, Sofia will now play a mysterious and possibly double-crossing agent in Bent, directed by Crash co-writer Bobby Moresco.

The film noir follows a former narcotics detective, played by Karl Urban, trying to get revenge after being framed by someone who also killed his partner.
