Amanda Holden slams The Nightly Show and says it should be hosted by two females as ‘it hasn’t worked’

The Britain's Got Talent judge said the much-criticised ITV show needs a re-vamp

AMANDA Holden believes ITV's new offering The Nightly Show needs an injection of girl power after being panned by viewers.

The Britain's Got Talent judge suggested the late-night programme - which replaced the 10 o'clock news - needed two female hosts to succeed.

TV stars including David Walliams, John Bishop and Davina McCall have all failed to impress the public so far as producers plump for a different presenter each week.

Amanda, 46, told website : "Probably what ITV should have done is given The Nightly Show to two females, and then maybe it would have been successful."

Yet she rejected she and BGT co-host Alesha Dixon would be the ones to lead the charge.

Amanda added: "Well no, we don’t do crumbs, darling. No, we will have started the loaf of bread. We don’t do the very last crust.”

The yummy mummy added fellow BGT judge David Walliams - who fronted the first seven days of the show - was a "great choice" yet the format "didn't work."

Amanda wowed at the launch event for the new series of BGT last night.

She and Alesha were left to greet fans as Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Stephen Mulhern all failed to show up.

Amanda had a busy day ahead of the red carpet, and shared a short video of her hoovering her house just hours before.

She joked: “Mandy’s work is never done! @BGT press day. Show starts this Saturday @itv 8pm.”

Meanwhile The Nightly Show - which has a different celebrity presenter every week - has faced constant criticism from telly fans.

Chef Gordon Ramsay came under fire after using the F-word 16 times as 300,000 fans turned off.

Yet X Factor host Dermot O'Leary fared much better, and The Sun exclusively revealed bosses had drafted him in for the second time.
