Mel B ‘to be sued by nanny for defamation’ after accusing her of having sex with her husband Stephen Belafonte — and aborting his baby
MEL B is reportedly facing a defamation lawsuit from her former nanny over the Spice Girl's shock claims about her alleged fling with Stephen Belafonte.
The singer alleged Lorraine Gilles slept with her husband and aborted his baby, and she is now said to be facing legal action, according to TMZ.
The website states that Gilles is preparing to sue the pop star over the allegations she made in court papers last month.
The report suggests her lawsuit will focus on the claims filed by Mel as part of her court battle with Stephen, 41.
Mel B filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years, and later applied for a restraining order to keep Stephen away from her.
In the court papers, she accused him of having a fling with their nanny, Lorraine, and give her money to have an abortion.
The pop star alleged her estranged husband admitted to getting Lorraine pregnant in 2014 and then paid her £241,000 for "nanny services.
Writing in the documents, Mel said Belafonte set Lorraine up "as her rival" and paid for her to have an abortion after discovering she was pregnant with his child.

She stated: "[He] would degrade me in front of her by comparing me to Lorraine, telling me how much younger and better looking she was.
"I later discovered that [he] was having sex with Lorraine and was paying her inordinate amounts of money. Over the course of some three years, I recently learned that [he] paid Lorraine in excess of $300,000 for alleged nanny services.
"[He] immediately began setting Lorraine up as my rival. She answered to, and reported to [him]."
Lorraine had been with the family since 2010 after she travelled to the US as an exchange student from Germany.
The court papers also included claims that Stephen told Mel he wanted to keep the baby and live together in a three-way partnership.
Mel added: "[He] told me he wanted her to have the baby and all three of us live together. I was shocked and in disbelief.
"[He] later demanded that Lorraine had an abortion. [He] used money earned by me to pay for Lorraine's abortion, and he used money earned by me to pay for Lorraine's hotel stay while she recuperated from the procedure."
Lorraine's friends have since told The Sun that the nanny has denied having a fling with Stephen.
In her dossier of allegations seen by The Sun, Mel claimed Belafonte punched her in jealous rages, choked her and slammed her against a wooden floor.
Mel filed for divorce from Stephen last month after 10 years of marriage and the divorce battle took a dark when the pop star filed for a restraining order.
Stephen accused Mel of launching a "smear campaign" against him in a bid to protect her reality TV career.
A statement released by Belafonte's rep dismissed Mel's claims: "In due course, Mr. Belafonte will be filing his response to the outrageous and unfounded allegations made by Ms. Brown, which allegations he vehemently denies...
"When the Court determines the truth, it will become clear that this entire charade was nothing more than a smear campaign intended to cover up Ms. Brown's own conduct during the marriage in light of her current involvement with a family television show, and in an effort to unfairly gain leverage both financially and with respect to custody of the children."
