MASTERCHEF fans were left divided this evening after a "delicious puddle" sent one contestant through to Knockout Week.
The dessert in question was supposed to have been a honey cheesecake - but a lack of gelatin had caused it to collapse.
Aerospace engineer Fumbi and the judges were left upset by the dessert, which ended up as a splodge on the plate.
John Torode remarked: "It all sort of went wrong in the last ten minutes, didn't it Fumbi?"
Fumbi sadly agreed as he shook his head at the dessert, revealing that he had got his gelatin measurement wrong.
But guest critic Jay Rayner, who had set the contestants the challenge of concocting either a honey or aubergine dish, praised the dish in spite of its huge fault.
He admitted: "I'm happy to close my eyes, not look at what it looks like, and tell you it's delicious."
Gregg Wallace similarly remarked: "I don't know who's more upset, me or you. We've got the most divine flavoured puddle here that I've ever experienced."
Regardless of the fact that Fumbi's cheesecake had turned into a soupy concoction, he managed to bag a place in the next round.
And some fans were not too pleased.
