Who is Reuben Grey and what is his Britain's Got Talent act?

Reuben is a sixteen-year-old singer-songwriter from Guildford, Surrey.

He is one of four children, and has been taking piano lessons since he was seven years old.

As well as this, he can also play guitar and saxophone and uses all three to create his own music.

On his official website, he cites his influences as Tom Odell, James Blunt, Prince and Eric Clapton.

Ahead of his appearance on Britain's Got Talent, Reuben began performing publicly by busking and attending open mic nights.

He also worked as part of swing bands to widen his scope as a musician.

His mum and dad both encouraged his musical talents from an early age, however his father is often away from the UK due to his work in active Army duty, so Reuben only sees him once every few months.

For his Britain's Got Talent performance he played a song he wrote himself, called Lifeline, about his girlfriend.

What happened with his dad at his Britain's Got Talent audition?

After singing, Reuben explained that the song was about his partner, who was in the audience, and was penned after they briefly split last year after he "didn't really treat right".

After she dumped him, he wrote the song to apologise, and in the process won her back.

However, his face dropped and he was reduced to tears before performing his song as his father stood up and cheered him on from the audience.

His dad proudly proclaimed he was his son's "biggest fan" and "an even bigger fan than his mum was".

Until that point, Reuben hadn't known that his dad had flown over to see him perform, and was under the impression he was away from the UK at work.

The proud dad was then seen mouthing the words to his son's song as he performed on stage.

Reuben earned four yeses from the judges, and made it through to the next round.
