Aaron Carter DENIES being a drug addict and blames his thin frame on a ‘stress-related eating disorder’

AARON Carter has spoken openly about his struggle with an eating disorder in an attempt to halt speculation of drug abuse.

The 29-year-old first sparked rumours of addiction when he checked into rehab six years ago.

In a series of tweets, Aaron revealed: “By the way y’all wanna know why I’m so skinny? It’s because at 19 I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia, I didn’t choose that. Be kind to me..

“It’s a terrible stress condition that affects me having an appetite and I’m sorry this is the way I am. Basically I have an eating disorder.”

In another heart-breaking tweet, the singer revealed: “No I don’t do drugs, yes I feel pain, I haven’t stopped working since I was 7 years old. 22 years later and I still won’t give up.

“Any of my fans who I let down or made them embarrassed to be my fans anymore I’m so sorry. I will never stop trying to win your hearts back.”

Fans were quick to send messages of support to Aaron with one writing on Twitter: “Proud of you for having the courage to stand up for yourself and being happy with who you are.”

One longtime fan of Aaron’s said: “I don’t think you disappointed anyone, everyone just missed you! You needed that time 4 u! That’s a good way to know how much you’re loved!”

Another fan told Aaron: “Good on you for speaking up, it’s hard for anyone but I imagine super hard for men.”

Aaron was launched into superstardom at 7-years-old and his debut studio album was released in 1997 after his brother Nick reached stratospheric levels of fame with the Backstreet Boys.

The former child sensation is now making an attempt at a pop comeback with latest EP LøVë which sees the singer make a huge departure from his trademark 90’s pop sound.

Aaron recently made headlines after being attacked on stage by a member of his support act.

Carter claimed that it was a reaction a racist slur made on stage. Following fans concerns after the incident, Aaron tweeted: “Everything is good for right now, police are investigating.”
