Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez and Gisele Bundchen pack on the PDA with their men at the Met Gala 2017
THERE’S nothing like a ball to get the inner romantic working over time – and a host of A-listers have used the annual Met Gala to show off their respective other halves for the evening.
As many made a statement on the red carpet of the annual fashion event – which brings out the best and the worst from the Hollywood elite, others decided they would show off their love on the carpet instead.
Selena Gomez and her boyfriend, The Weeknd, finally had their official debut as a couple – and couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they smiled for photos together.
In one tender moment, smitten Selena was seen snuggling into her beau, while in another it was him smothering her in kisses.
The couple were completely besotted – which may have been a bit of a hard hit for his ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid, who was also attending the event.
Supermodel Gisele Bunchen was also caught red-handed giving her hunky other half Tom Brady more than one cheeky snog as they arrived at the event.
In one picture, the New England Patriot was seen tapping his stunning girlfriend’s bum as she shimmered in a beautiful silver dress.
The backless silver gown, designed by Stella McCartney, was paired almost perfectly with his darker, grey velvet Tom Ford dinner jacket, and even though they have been married since 2009, it appeared that they still had the love of newlyweds.
Meanwhile, Sean “P Diddy” Combs and his wife Cassie may not have smothered each other in kisses, but Diddy made sure his other half was appreciated as he lay back on the stairs to playfully bask in her beauty.
Cassie was seen blushing as she posed for photos, and while there were hundreds of celebrities -including a practically ‘naked’ Kendall Jenner and a bright red Katy Perry – at the event, alongside dozens more photographers, it was clear that he only had eyes for her.
Like Selena, Jennifer also used the opportunity to head out with baseball pro Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez for the first time as a couple.
Jennifer, who has been spotted on numerous date nights with the sportsman since they first got together, looked stunning in a baby blue dress as she stood next to her handsome beau.
Meanwhile, Serena Williams stepped out for the first time since announcing her pregnancy, and beamed on the arm of her Reddit co-founder fiance, Alexis Ohanian.
The black tie party – which raises money for the Costume Institute – is an annual event which sees some of the biggest celebrities vying for attention on the red carpet.
Last year 600 guests were present at the bash, known as “the Oscars of the East Coast”, but this year a spokesperson for the museum confirmed the gala would be a more “intimate” affair.
Tickets to the Met Gala cost £23,000 per person and last year they raised over £10 million for the museum.
Each year celebrates designers and 2017’s party celebrates the work of Rei Kawakubo.
Guests will dress according to the Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between theme.
The 74-year-old designer created the Comme des Garçons brand in 1969.
Rei is making history at the Gala as she is only the second living designer to be celebrated.
The first was Yves Saint Laurent in 1983.
