Broken is the latest drama from acclaimed screenwriter and producer Jimmy McGovern (Accused, The Street, Banished).
It tells the story of Father Michael Kerrigan, a Catholic Priest in Northern England who must battle his own secret struggles while being a confidante, counsellor and confessor to a community that is struggling to balance faith with the harsh realities of daily life.
Father Michael gets involved with a local mother of three who is left with no way to feed her children and pushed to the edge when tragedy hits.
Viewers can expect plenty of dramatic twists as all is not as it first seems.

Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings) leads up the star-studded cast as Father Michael Kerrigan, a Catholic priest presiding over a Northern urban parish.
Father Michael is described as being a modern yet flawed man with secret struggles of his own.
Anna Friel (Pushing Daises, Limitless) stars as Christina Fitzsimmons, a struggling mother who is pushed to the limit after a recent tragedy. Her life collides with Father Michael's as he tries to comfort her while battling his own demons.
