ALAN Titchmarsh has broken the hearts of Ground Force fans around the world by shooting down rumours of a 20th anniversary reunion.
The 68-year-old presented the popular gardening makeover show alongside Charlie Dimmock and Tommy Walsh from 1997 until 2005.
The 20-year anniversary of the show is fast approaching, and rumours have circulated in recent weeks that the trio will reunite to acknowledge the milestone.
But during an appearance on Monday's Lorraine, Alan nipped the speculation in the bud.
When asked by Lorraine if it would ever come back, he said: "I don't think so. I don't think the other side [the BBC] want to do it.
"Charlie, Tommy and I have always said 'yes' but it's 20 years since we stopped.
"We can't life paving slabs [any more], Charlie probably can."
When Lorraine described the 50-year-old as a "fantastic woman", Alan agreed, saying: "She is, she's a laugh.
"What you see with Charlie is what you get."
When the host insisted again they could do a one-off special, or do something for The Queen, Alan replied: "I could point a lot."
Alan's comments will come as a disappointment to Charlie, who recently revealed her hopes at a Ground Force reunion.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun Online, she said: "I have heard whisperings.
"We're too old. I know Tommy says, 'Oh yeah we could do it again'."
Charlie was 31 when she shot to fame on the show, most famously for going bra-less and becoming a gardening sex symbol.
But watching herself back isn't for Charlie, she said adding: "Oh my goodness how to make myself feel really old. When you see yourself at 31 great. Blimey."
Nor did she miss the level of fame she achieved through the show.
"I didn't really miss it. I was doing other things. We had quite a long run on Ground Force. We did it for eight, nine years so it was enough."
