"At 9pm, 18 hours into my labour, I finally agreed to it. I really wanted to go pain-free, but after 18 hours the nurse suggested I should have an epidural.";

Amy had been in a birthing pool until this point, but to have the epidural she had to get out and go into another room to see the anaesthetic team.

She continued: "Labour was terrifying. I thought I was going to die; I'm not going to lie to you, it was horrific.

"I just had no idea it would be so painful."
