Stacey Solomon reveals people told her ‘your life is over’ when she had a child aged 18
STACEY Solomon says people told her that her “life was over” when she became a teen mum.
The mum-of-two rose to fame when the nation fell in love with her on The X Factor in 2009, and she now enjoys a flourishing TV career – however Stacey, 27, revealed that many said it would never happen.
When asked by Best whether she would support her sons if they wanted to get into showbiz, the Loose Woman said: “Absolutely.
"You have to work hard even when people tell you that you can’t do it.
“That’s an important life lesson.”
And that lesson was hammered home when she fell pregnant at 18 with son Zachary, now nine.
“Yes [people told me that I couldn't do it], especially after having a child at 18.
“People would say they thought my life was over, so I wanted to show them that it wasn’t at all.
“That has always driven me.”
Stacey, who is also mum to five-year-old Leighton and dates actor Joe Swash, paid tribute to X Factor boss Simon Cowell who she thanks for her career today.
“I bump into him all the time. He’s really sweet.
“The X Factor is why I get to do what I’m doing today.
“I owe it so much.”
