Who is Alan Cumming?
Alan Cumming was born January 27, 1965 in Scotland to Alex Cumming and Mary Darling.
The star revealed he suffered emotional and physical violence at the hands of his father during his childhood in his autobiography, Not My Father's Son, and claimed his mother was unable to get a divorce until she was financially independent.
He made his film debut in 1986 and made waves with his role in Ian Seller's Prague a year later, landing the Best Actor award at the Atlantic Film Festival.
Alan went on to play Boris Ivanovich Grishenko in James Bond film, Golden Eye while his first American film was cult classic Romy and Michele's High School Reunion in 1997.
The actor also starred in the Spy Kids trilogy, superhero film X2 and Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.
On TV Alan is best known for playing political operative Eli Gold in CBS dramas The Good Wife, and its spin off The Good Fight.

Alan starred in the 1993 revival of musical Cabaret which was directed by Sam Menders for Donmar Warehouse in London's West End.
His role as the Emcee was previously played as an asexual, edgy character dressed in a tuxedo with rouged cheeks.

Alan is openly bisexual and lives in Manhattan with his husband Grant Shaffer.
He met the illustrator in 2005 and they became civil partners at the Old Royal Naval College, London in January 2007.
The pair legally married in New York on 7 January 2012, the fifth anniversary of their London union.
