JAMES Bond actor Sir Roger Moore has passed away at 89-years-old.
His career was defined by his 12 year stint as the much-loved secret agent in seven James Bond films between 1973 and 1985.
Sir Roger Moore’s James Bond career began with Live And Let Die and went on to include such iconic instalments as The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker.
He continued the role for another three films in the 1980s – For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy and his final appearance, A View To A Kill where he starred opposite Grace Jones.
Speaking in his 2008 autobiography, My Word Is My Bond, Sir Roger Moore revealed how he had to cut his hair and lose weight for the role when first cast in 1973. Moore later confessed that he resented having to make such changes.
Other Bond Girls who starred opposite the late Sir Roger Moore include Jane Seymour, Carole Bouquet and Maud Adams.
Tributes have poured in from across Hollywood as Moore’s co-stars mourn the loss.

He tweeted: “My dearest uncle Roger has passed on. What a sad, sad day this is. Loved the bones of him. Generous, funny, beautiful and kind.”
Russell Crowe also paid his respects and simply tweeted: “Roger Moore, loved him.”
Sir Roger Moore was praised for portraying a more contemporary interpretation of James Bond, one that fans felt was a much better fit for the 1970s.
Moore announced his departure from the Bond franchise – created by Ian Fleming – in December 1985. He later was crowned ‘Best Bond’ in 2004 as part of an Academy Awards poll.
