Madonna slammed by fans for ‘self-indulgent’ tribute to victims of the Manchester bombing… and pal Ariana Grande
MADONNA has been slammed by fans today for posting a picture of her and Ariana Grande partying.
More than 24 hours after Monday night's Manchester bombing, Madonna, 58, uploaded a picture to Instagram of her and Ariana, 23, with their arms wrapped around each other and pouting at the camera.
Madonna wrote: “Thank Goodness my friend is O'K. 🙏🏻Lets all pray for the innocent victims who are not ok. For their families and for Manchester💘🙏🏻”
However her followers were left reeling at the picture and the words the singer had chosen.
One wrote: “She should NOT use such a tragedy for self-promotion!!! Another picture and words would fit better!!!!”

And many more believed that Madge should have been focussing on the 22 dead, 59 injured, and nine people still missing from the atrocity, before namedropping Ariana.
One fumed: “Being thankful that Ariana is ok should have come at the end of her post, it should have been respect for the dead children that should be foremost in people's minds not being thankful that ur multi $$ celeb friend is safe, very selfish post by @madonna [sic]”
Another called it “narcissistic”, writing: “This post was so damn unnecessary!!! Think more before you post this kind of s***!!! over the top narcissistic.... 😒😡”
Another simply said: “Me me me me me me me me me me and me only me.”

One pointed out that she uploaded the controversial picture of her daughter and a “cocaine” cushion before paying tribute to Manchester.
“And it's only taken you a day to realise? Ariana ok? What about the families? Post your ridiculous cocaine cushion pictures first, that's your priority!!!!”
And others pointed out that the post echoed Kim Kardashian, with the reality star also posting an Instagram snap of her and Ariana partying that many deemed inappropriate.
“It's as ridiculous as Kim Kardashian posting a picture of her & Ariana partying..??? WTF get a grip people.”
While Madonna may have missed the mark with her post, many other famous faces across the world shared their shock and paid tribute to those who lost their lives.
However, Madge followers were adamant at the way they felt the Material Girl should pay her respects.
“Not the best tribute. Sorry @madonna ❤️”, wrote one, as another remarked: “Posting a photo posing is insensitive and so typical @madonna 😡”
