When is Tonight: The Manchester Attack on ITV tonight?
ITV's current affairs strand Tonight is to air a special edition in the wake of the Manchester terrorist attack.
It will air this evening (May 25, 2017) at 7.30pm and will be hosted by Julie Etchingham.
The show will focus on the identity and background of the bomber and how the city has responded following the atrocity.
Prime Minster Theresa May was due to be on the show to talk about the election, but will now appear on June 6, 2017.
What happened at the Manchester Arena?
A bomb exploded in the foyer of Manchester Arena moments after US pop star Ariana Grande left the stage on May 22.
Witnesses told how nuts and bolts were sent flying in the blast as fans made their way to Manchester Victoria train station next door.
At least 59 fans were injured and 22 lost their lives, including children and the lone attacker Salman Abedi.
Who is Julie Etchingham? What’s her background?
Julie was born in August 1969 in Leicester to her teacher parents and was raised as a Roman Catholic.
She went to local schools in the city before becoming the first girl at her school to land a place at Cambridge to study English.
After graduating she joined the BBC’s graduate programme and worked at BBC Midlands before moving to London, where she became a well-known face on kids show Newsround.
After a long stint at the corporation, she moved to Sky News in 2002, and became one of the main news anchors on the channel.
But when ITV announced they were to bring back News at Ten, she was poached by the channel to host the programme alongside Sir Trevor McDonald.
