Who’s on The One Show tonight? John Barrowman and Jo Brand join Ore Oduba and Angela Scanlon on the sofa

JOHN Barrowman will be entertaining us from The One Show sofa tonight – regaling us with news of his new book, and hopefully some insider goss about his TV projects.

Comedian Jo Brand will also be joining Angela Scanlon and Ore Oduba. Here’s what to expect.

What time is The One Show on?

You can turn on to BBC1 at 7pm on weeknights to watch the show.

Each night the presenters mix interviews with an array of celebrity guests with an eclectic mix of topics ranging from current affairs to pop culture.

John will discuss his new novel, which he co-wrote with his university lecturer sister.

While Jo Brand is about to set off on another walking challenge after her epic Sport Relief challenge in 2016, and talks to Joe Crowley about her efforts.

Who’s presenting tonight?

Angela Scanlon will be on the sofa tonight. The presenter covered for Alex Jones while she was on maternity leave, and is back to cover the Bank Holiday show.

Angela is an Irish television presenter, broadcaster and journalist. She co-hosts Robot Wars on BBC Two with Dara O’Briain and has recently been revealed as the new face of beauty brand Garnier alongside Davina McCall.

Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba will join her. Since winning the glitterball, Ore Oduba has taken up regular co-hosting gigs on The One Show and This Morning.

He has also appeared on ITV show Play to the Whistle, as well as the newly revamped Top Gear – although his appearance descended into chaos when he lost control of the car on the Top Gear track.

Who is John Barrowman?

Arrow and Doctor Who star John Barrowman will be gracing the sofa with Ore and Angela. But he won’t be discussing one of his famous sci-fi roles this time.

Instead he’ll be talking about his new book, which he wrote with his sister Carole.

John and Carole have written a whopping six novels together, while he has also written three autobiographies.

The latest book, Nephilim, is the second book in a series about a boy who can alter reality with his mind.

Fans of John’s acting roles will be hoping he can spill some secrets about the new series of Torchwood and his departure from Arrow as well as his new writing venture.

Who is Jo Brand?

Jo Brand is a comedian best known for her dry wit during panel show appearances, as well as TV shows Getting On and Damned. She has also hosted The Great British Bake Off’s Extra Slice show.

In 2016 she completed an epic 135 mile walk from one side of the country to the other in just seven days.

Now she is completing another walking challenge with fellow walkers in West Yorkshire and will be talking to Joe Crowley about the latest challenge.

Can I be in The One Show audience?

Unfortunately, the One Show is not listed among the BBC shows you can apply for tickets for.

However, to be in with a chance of watching programmes from A Question of Sport to Just a Minute being made visit  .

How long has The One Show been running?

The magazine style show has been running for over a decade. The first episode was aired on August 14 2006.

From 2007 to 2010 it was hosted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, before Alex Jones and Jason Manford took the helm.

Chris Evans oversaw the Friday night hour-long episodes from 2010 to 2015.

The likes of Dermot O’Leary, Phil Tufnell, Zoe Ball and Fearne Cotton are among the guest presenters who have stood in for the regular duos.
