LIAM Gallagher sang Live Forever and placed 22 candles on stage as he played his first-ever solo gig just a week after the Manchester bombing.

A total of 116 people have received treatment in hospital - 17 remain in critical care, meaning they may be receiving help breathing or their organs are being supported.

American star Ariana is playing another concert in the city this Sunday to also raise funds for victims of the bombing and will be joined by Manchester pop giants Take That, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus and Pharrell Williams.

One Direction's Niall Horan, Katy Perry and Usher will also perform at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

The Sun’s fundraising appeal surpassed £175,000, receiving more than 5,000 donations, and has been passed to Manchester City Council.

Footie giants Manchester United and Manchester City, Hollywood heartthrob Tom Hardy and chart topper Ed Sheeran are just several in a long line of celebrity backers for the fundraising pages.
