Simon Cowell melts the hearts of the America’s Got Talent audience as he takes son Eric to work with him for the day
SIMON Cowell’s son proved he takes after his father as he gleefully hit his buzzer on America’s Got Talent.
The 57-year-old chief judge invited his three-year-old mini-me son Eric to sit on his knee during auditions on the American talent show.
Wearing some protective ear defenders, Eric looked delighted to be handed the power to his dad's rejection buzzer on the show.
Showing early promise with his buzzer pushing skills, Simon was left sounding like he was ready to throw his toys out the pram as he asked his son if he was trying to steal his job.
In the heart-warming scenes that aired across the pond this week, Si is shown first debating with Eric who he would prefer to be shipwrecked with for the rest of all time – the options being Simon or mother Lauren Silverman, 39.
Eric looked delighted to have the power to press the buzzer
“So if you had to be on a desert island for the rest of your life with either me or mummy, who would it be?” Simon asked.
Eric replied by putting his hand on Simon’s arm, prompting the show boss to ask: “Why?”
Eric then said: “Because I press the scary buzzer all day.”
Scenes then showed Eric with his dad on the AGT judging panel – taking position beside German supermodel Heidi Klum.
“Are you trying to do my job?” a slightly anxious-sounding Simon asked as Eric’s hand hovered over the red buzzer in front of them.
“Are you?” Simon asked – then continuing: “What do I do?”
Eric then gleefully hit the buzzer, prompting the red lights to flash and a loud rejection sound to boom out across the theatre space.
“That is my job!” Simon wailed – with Heidi adding to Eric: “Just like your daddy!”
Meanwhile over on UK shores, Britain’s Got Talent nears its climax for the 2017 series.
This week viewers have been gripped by the live semi-final rounds – while the grand final has been moved from Sunday to Saturday in order to make way for Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester charity performance.
People in the UK can watch AGT on truTV from 13th June (TruTV is available on Freeview 68, Sky 186, Freesat 154 and Virgin 212)
