Lydia Bright’s mum Debbie quits Towie just days after her daughter but insists it’s nothing to do with James Argent’s return
The ITVBe show is losing another member of the cast
LYDIA Bright's mum Debbie has quit Towie - just days after her daughter.
Her decision came just weeks after her ex-boyfriend James 'Arg' Argent, 29, signalled his intention to return to the show following a stint in rehab.
On Wednesday, Debbie took to Twitter to confirm that she too had left The Only Way is Essex, but her decision and Lydia's had no connection with Arg's plans.
Tagging her daughter and her ex-boyfriend, she wrote: "Following the release re Lydia leaving Towie I feel it's the right time to inform you that I decided to leave the show at the end of the last series...
"Please BELIEVE me that this had no link at all re James returning.
"I wish James love and happiness as does Lydia. My time on Towie has come to an end for other reasons.
"Love and hugs to you all."
Debbie's post received replies from a number of cast members, with Amber Dowding writing: "Gonna miss you xxx" while Georgia Kousoulou added: "Can't cope [crying emoji] everyone needs to stop leaving me! Amb don't even think about it."
Mario Falcone, who returned to the show briefly earlier this year, said: "Well that's rubbish... you were the only reason I wanted to come back and still watch the show... only eye candy on there xxx".
Meanwhile a source told Bizarre of Lydia's decision to leave, revealing: "Lydia loved being on Towie despite the stresses it's caused in her personal life, particularly when it comes to Arg.
"She was weighing up her future following the end of the last series and with Arg clearly being back in contention, it triggered her decision.
"She knew he would get a lot of airtime and it's only natural she would be dragged into possible storylines."
Lydia left the show once before in 2012 following another fallout with Arg but returned two years later, when the pair rekindled their relationship.
However, their on/off romance was over for good last year when Lydia grew tired after Arg's partying lifestyle, which eventually forced him into rehab.
In recent years she's attempted to increase her profile by appearing The Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls and The Jump, both of which have been on Channel 4.
