Ed Sheeran strums away on his acoustic guitar as he joins James Corden for Carpool Karaoke

ED Sheeran will sing some of his biggest hits in the passenger seat of James Corden's car for Carpool Karaoke.

In a teaser trailer of the episode, the Thinking Out Loud crooner, 26, delivers energetic versions of Sing and Castle on the Hill beside an enthusiastic James.

Showing off his inked arms in a plain black T-shirt, Ed even squeezes his trusty acoustic guitar inside for the ride.

The much-anticipated episode will air on Tuesday - when the show will broadcast from London - and other star guests appearing over the course of the week include Tom Cruise, David Beckham, Kings of Leon, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Hudson and Harry Styles.

Just yesterday Ed had to deny that he'd married girlfriend Cherry Seaborn after a slip of the tongue by pal Russell Crowe.

Ed set the record straight and explained Russell had even emailed him to apologise.

He said: “You know, he’s only met Cherry once and I didn’t introduce her… I didn’t say anything.

“I think he just assumed. But no, we’re not engaged.”

Ed and Russell became close when they started hanging out during the 26-year-old’s hiatus last year.

Ed said at the time: “I’ve started hanging out with Russell Crowe because he loves getting drunk and I love getting drunk.

“We don’t get anything from each other, other than just a night out. We get an enjoyment of hanging out.

“There is no boost in either of our careers from our association.”

While Ed isn’t ready to marry his childhood sweetheart, he’s made no secret of his desire to start a family with her.

He said: “I wanted to be a dad, like, last year. I’m ready, let’s go—tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around.”

After striking up a romance with Cherry in 2015, Ed decided to take a break from working to travel the world with her.

He later returned and released his epic album Divide which shot straight to the top of the charts.
