TV host opened up about her doomed marriage
ANTHEA Turner has revealed her ex-husband Grant Bovey told her he may have not cheated on her if they had been able to have children together.
The couple divorced in 2015 on the grounds of Grant's infidelity and Anthea has now admitted it may have ended differently if they started a family together.
Anthea and Grant met in 1998 while they were married to other people and they both left their partners to be together. They married in 2000, but were unable to have children together despite several rounds of IVF treatment.
The former GMTV star has now revealed that Grant, who had three kids from his previous marriage, made a startling confession to her.
She told Hello! magazine: "I did once ask [Grant] if he would have stayed if we'd had our own children, to which he replied, 'Possibly'.
"I shall never know, of course, but I can't pretend that wasn't painful to hear.
"It was a double blow, I guess."
Anthea also opened up about the pain their affair caused, but insists she has no regrets about her marriage to Grant.
She said: "Looking back, I regret the pain we caused.
"It was a terrible time of hurt all round and, knowing what I know now, I am so sorry about it all...
"I can understand why some people think I got my comeuppance when my relationship then went on to deteriorate in the way it did.
"But I loved Grant and I can't regret the 15 years we had together. There were some very happy times."
The couple first split in 2012 but briefly reconciled before separating for good in 2013.
Their divorce was finalised in 2015.
Anthea was married to Peter Powell when she met Grant, and they divorced in 1998.
Grant was wed to Della Chapman, the mother of his three daughters.
