Noel Gallagher brands brother a ‘diva’ as it’s revealed ‘he was NEVER asked to perform at One Love Manchester gig’ but did waive royalties for classic track to help boost charity fund
NOEL GALLAGHER hasn’t just been getting flak from his brother for his One Love Manchester no-show.
The OASIS star, who has been in Italy with his family celebrating his 50th birthday, has also been the target of social media vitriol for supposedly snubbing the gig in his home town.
But, for the first time, I can reveal the truth behind his absence and how Noel has been secretly topping up the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund - before the tribute gig was even announced.
In revelations sure to embarrass his outspoken brother Liam, I can disclose:
He was never asked to perform by either CHRIS MARTIN or event organiser SCOOTER BRAUN.

Noel immediately signed over the royalties to Don’t Look Back In Anger after it became the fund’s anthem.
It was actually Liam acting like the diva, demanding a private jet to fly him to Manchester on the premise he could perform his new single.
A source close to the concert said: “Noel has been getting a real bashing for not being at the gig, which is totally out of order.
“He’s been hugely supportive of the cause but hasn’t gone public as, in his mind, it’s not about him.
“The fact he wasn’t asked to even perform at any point by any of the organisers makes a mockery of Liam’s claims.”
“Noel also felt the concert was aimed at fans of pop not rock, a belief shared by Manchester icons JOHNNY MARR, THE STONE ROSES, HAPPY MONDAYS and MORRISSEY.
The generous offer to waive the royalties to Don't Look Back In Anger, after it was sung by mourners at Manchester vigils shortly after the terror attack, would have made thousands for the relief fund — especially now it is set to re-enter the charts.
Noel’s relationship with Liam, who slated his brother in a series of tweets on Monday, is seemingly beyond repair.
And Liam demanding to sing comeback single Wall Of Glass at the gig after insisting his record company pay for his private jet back from Germany, will have irked Noel even more.
However, Noel’s friendship with Chris is also under threat following the show, which might be why the COLDPLAY singer sent gushing tweets today.
He wrote: “Thank you @noelgallagher for giving your blessing and encouragement to play Don’t Look Back In Anger and Live Forever on Sunday.”
Chris added: “Everyone knew in advance you couldn’t be there physically, so thank you for being there in spirit.” Noel has been in Italy celebrating his 50th birthday.
But he might still need to do a bit more to win back Noel's affections.
The concert source said of Noel, who has been in Italy with his family and celebrating turning 50, added: “He was thrown under the bus by Chris.
“From the outside, Chris looks like the nice guy who’s stepped in to replace Noel for the Oasis reunion.
“Not once did he publicly clarify why Noel wasn’t there until he sent those tweets, even though he was given permission to sing Don’t Look Back In Anger days before.”
Chris and Liam singing Live Forever is the closest fans will get to an Oasis reunion.
The reality is, as hard as this for Liam and fans of the band to hear, Oasis will never reform.
The source said: “Never has an Oasis reunion been less likely to happen. It’s completely over for them, despite brother’s pleas.”
Liam better hope his new solo career pays the bills.

THE dress code’s in the title and CAROLINE FLACK and co certainly did their bit at tonight’s Glamour Women of the Year Awards.

She was joined by equally glamorous MYLEENE KLASS, HOLLY WILLOUGHBY, ROCHELLE HUMES and Hollywood superstar NICOLE KIDMAN, who bagged Best Film Actress.
But it wasn’t just about the girls as former Woman of the Year CHERYL let her boyfriend LIAM PAYNE represent the couple, as he handed Man of the Year to the unstoppable JAMES CORDEN.
With his The Late Late Show in London airing tonight, he’ll have had to keep a tab on his after party celebrations.
