JAMES ‘Arg’ Argent will be returning to Towie, confirms his ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright.

When the show returns in September, The Essex original would have had a seven-month break following a stint in Thai rehab in February to work on his “well-being” - but now he’s in a “good place” and set to make his comeback.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online as she launches her book Live, Laugh, Love Always, Lydia said: “From what I’ve heard from him, he is in a good place and he is doing really well.

“He is returning to Towie. That’s a good thing for him.

“I do wish him the best even though there’s not a future for us. I want him to be happy and I want him to be in a good place.”

The reality-star-turned-author also insisted that Arg is not the reason behind her recent departure from the show.

“I have not left TOWIE because of James. We have a laugh about it. We are friends but we are not overly friendly. It’s every now and then. There’s no hard feelings.”

Lydia, 27, started dating 29-year-old Arg when she was a teen, and after years on being on-off, ended the relationship for good in May 2016.

In the months following the breakup Arg struggled with his weight and controlling his partying lifestyle, so escaped to South East Asia to focus on his physical and mental health, while Lydia admits the relationship ending also took its toll on her.

She said: “When we first broke up there was so much anger and hate and I was broken with it all.

“But time is the best healer. You just need to move on. You need to let go as time has gone on.

“Eight-and-a-half years of my life. I would hate to think what a waste. Otherwise you are forever looking back and thinking what is the point?

“He was a part of our life. They [my family] mourned the loss of James as well. They totally respected my decision. They knew I had to let go.”
