Speaking on today's Loose Women about the subject of single motherhood, Stacey said she judged herself more harshly than the outside world when it came to bringing her son up alone.

She said: "I always felt the stigma [more] of being a young mum and any of those doubts that me alone wasn't enough for my child came from within rather than from anybody else."

Stacey is a mum to son Zachary, nine, by teenage sweetheart Dean Cox, and son Leighton, five, by ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham.

"I was more conscious of people thinking 'look at that kid with a kid.'

"I don't even know if people knew if I was a single parent or not.

"If a woman's walking down the street with a pram or a man's walking down the street with a pram - you don't know if they've got a partner or not.

"I felt and I still do feel less judgement in that department."

The discussion came when the women talked about pregnant reality star Ferne McCann who will bring up her first child herself.

Stacey told the panel: "Bringing a child into the world is daunting no matter what your circumstances are and raising a child is hard if you're single or both parents are around.

"I think having a child and being full of those hormones and going through what she's going through is daunting."
